Graduation: Biological Sciences at UEA
Friday 21st July was graduation day for the school of Biological Sciences at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich. Degree certificates were awarded to deserving students with proud parents smiling and looking on. In some cases, students had excelled and attended a prize giving ceremony within the School.
One of the awards was The Humane Research Trust Prize for the top student on the BSc Biomedicine degree programme. The Trust’s Chairman, Les Rhoades, was in attendance and awarded this year’s prize to Thao Huynh. Thao is from Vietnam and has received top marks in each year of study at UEA; her outstanding efforts were rewarded with a starred first, which is limited to our elite students.
Thao will also undertake a Humane Research Trust PhD studentship on stress pathways in ocular disease that will start on 1st October under the supervision of Dr Michael Wormstone.
